Re: "Casino sues former poker manager over thefts"

I am not familiar with the person here or the crime that was committed. However, I would like to pose these thoughts just to inquire about the situation. As many of you have said, it doesn't make sense that a crime of this level would get such a small sentence.

Is it possible that this offense was committed by an individual that has had no other record of criminal offence. What was the explanation for why he took the money. Could he have had some extenuating hardship that caused him to resort to this out of desperation. Maybe, as was mentioned, the corporate victim agreed to such a light sentence out of sympathy for some other situation and agreed on the condition that he make restitution and not commit any other offences and stay in the state etc. during the period of the probation.

In addition, what is the status of his ability to work in a casino ever again. I would assume that his career as a casino employee is over. Is there any community service involved or any specifications for his working off or repaying the debt.

I just was wondering.
