Don't let this get you down. 4 years ago was a long time and the procedures have changed quite a bit.

I had my 2 way bypass in February of 1992.

Today depending upon where the problem arteries are located on the heart they can now do surgery without putting the patient on the heart lung machine, and the known memory losses associated with it.

They also have been using arteries (reported to last longer) from the arms to do the grafts with instead of veins from the legs. For a long time also they have been moving the mammory artery to graft onto the heart which has been done for a long time as they used one of mine.

This surgery is life saving!

You might ask if they have a Mended Hearts Chapter at your hospital that visits patients. Mended Hearts is an organization of people who have had all types of heart surgeries that visit patients in the hospital, before and after surgery. They are a great help to patients in helping to releive them of their apprehensions relating to heart surgeries.

Just know that hundreds of thousands of heart bypass patients are living today who wouldn't be here without it.
