My daughter has wanted a puppy for some time now. She is 9, and has read all the dog books at ‘Books-A-Million’ and has become quite knowledgeable about the breeds, temperament, care, and handling. I have been impressed by what she has learned and her devotion to having a new dog. After weighing purebred VS. mutt, we decided it was time to rescue a mut (our other dogs had been purebred). I went to the Humane Society and took a ‘sneak-peek’ (for 2½ hours) the day before. The next day I took my daughter there to pick one out. I made her select different dogs but she always came back to this one and said “Daddy this is the one I REALLLLY want!” each time. SO, we ended up with this one. Because of the color, her name started out as “Coco”, I added “Mutt” and it caught on, “Cocomutt”. She’s Australian Shepard “MIX”, I got the Australian Shepard part, it’s the “MIX” part that worries me! LOL I had to donate $45 for adoption and (PAUL SAX- With you in mind) I made an additional $500 donation, which my company will match double (total $1500). That should buy a few bags of puppy chow for the Humane Society! LOL

This is when the dog discovered it HAD feet! (First day my daughter never stoped holding it. I told her it would forget it had feet if she didn't out it down now and then LOL.
