Scott, A foxtail is a species of grass bearing a dense spike of flowers like a fox's tail. When dogs sniff around in some underbrushes, the foxtail get into their nose and is difficult to remove. Since that happened to one of our poodles, were have since restrained him and all our other dogs when around such species of grass.
