Since you have decided to start talking about things you know very little, if anything at all, about let me give you and everyone else a few FACTS to think about.
FACT #1: There was NEVER a time when you went to the local chapter meetings "EVERY MONTH". You attended, at best, four to six meetings over a two year period. The only time you ever showed up was to "promote" something for yourself.
Your outreageous statement about the "O'Neal's hate for the Trop for several personal reasons" has absolutely no bearing on the way club business was conducted and we very much resent you bringing "personal reasons" into the subject.
FACT # 2: Two years ago there was a full membership vote on staying at the Las Vegas Club. The MEMBERS voted 34 to stay, 8 to move somewhere else. Your talk about "corruption" and "someone benefiting economically from the decision" is nothing short of slanderous. The only thing that is "stupid" is your remarks on something you really don't know anything about.
FACT # 3: It was our understanding, at that time, the members wished to stay where they were because the location is most centrally located for everyone to get to.
FACT # 4: There was no "big fight" over this. There was a membership vote.
FACT #5: There WERE several other places checked on. Most places were not interested in a small group tying up a room on a regular monthly basis. I sure don't know where you heard Orleans was free. They wanted $300.00 per month. Showboat wanted $450.00 per month. Those figures made the Las Vegas Club $100.00 per month look pretty reasonable. I don'y recall Andy ever offering information on a "free" room or I am sure it would have been checked into by the chapter officers.
FACT #6: You had better re-think your statement on "new people-new ideas" because THAT is when things started going down hill and many of the old timers stopped coming.
I take nothing away from Bill Judge and his new crew. They are all working very hard to build things back up again and YOU are doing NOTHING to help with your poison pen writing.
And furthur more I don't care to hear anymore of your crap about being such a great benifactor by giving the club a free table. FACT # 7: There was a free club table at every single Arizona Charlie show that has been held. I know that because I am the one that handled it. At which I advertised the Southern Nevada chapter, the main CC>CC, and all other chapters sent me their brochures for handing out to people from other areas.
My husband and I and others have helped maintain a club table at all ANA events, Jim Munding's Calif show, Bob Gabels Biloxi show, the F.U.N. show once a year in Florida. Plus several others too numerous to mention over the past ten years. We have paid our own travel expenses, motel bills, etc JUST to spend our time promoting this organization. NOW, we have become old and bitter and tired and feel we have put in a horrondus amount of time promoting this club to the outside world. YES, it is far past time for younger people to start lending a hand. BUT, what do we hear but constant begging for people to help out, with very darn few volunteers coming forward because almost everyone of you is far too busy trying to make your own fortunes off of something that should be collected "just for the fun of it". And THT, Mr. Businessman, is why this club is starting to fall apart. With people like you around who can enjoy anything!! Now go back to your slabbing friends and leave us alone. We still have our "collector" friends and still will enjoy our hobby in spite of you and"your friends".
