Gene's Post!

Below is Gene's post to Katie from further down on the Board. I think it is important enough to be placed here on top so that it will not be missed by some. Andy - Las Vegas

>>>Nate Pincus and Jim Steffener campaigned on "I'm against slabs, BUT. I think we all knew what that meant. They made no bones about it. BUT, Nate did say he would listen to all chippers opinions. you decide if he did.

Ken Hollenbeck, incumbant VP of CCGTCC, I have no idea what platform he ran on. Has anyone ever seen this guy? Is he a real person?

Jim Episale, dead against slabs.

Dave Shron, I did not pay much attention to his platform.

The crux:

Jim Reilly, Neal Silverman, Marty Kaplan, and Ralph Myers ran on an anti-slab platform. They had a joint ad in the club mag, DESIGNED BY RALPH. I don't have my copy, so someone please post what this ad says. Read the election propaganda and decide for yourself, who kept their word.

All 4 of them are Charter Members of the Slabfree Chapter.

I am sure you all remember the controversy over the T-shirts designed and sold by Ralph Myers at the Palace Station chip show. You know, the little guy with his wang out peeing on a slabbed chip. I bought one, many did. Why? To support Ralph for coming up with the idea and for supporting the Chapter at the show. BTW, no procedes of the T-shirt went to the chapter. If I remember right, Ralph helped man the table. We all helped him pass out pre-paid T-shirts and to sell the extra ones. Jim Reilly paid full price for all T-shirts left over, so Ralph would not get stuck with them.

Was Ralph Anti-Slab during campaigning and at the Palace Station show? You decide. Did we back him? Did he back us with his votes on any of the 3 articles voted on by the board? You decide.

Neal & Marty voted to ban Slabbing Companies from the convention and the auction. Thank you for keeping your campaign promises.

I emailed Ralph about his vote. I got the standard, "I'm against slabbing, BUT!" answer back.

I spoke to Dave Shron in late May. He was adamant that he would back a motion to ban Slabbing Companies from the convention. I never asked him to back banning chip dealers from selling slabbed chips.

I emailed Dave after the vote. His reply was the standard "I'm against slabs, BUT!" almost a carbon copy of Ralphs reply. I wonder who wrote that standard and rather lengthy reply, and passed it out to everyone?
BTW, Dave did not deny our conversation in May. I credit him for that.

MY QUESTION: What happened in a short span of time? You decide!<<<
