Labor Day weekend

...yielded Las Vegas milestones for me in 1999 and 2000.

1999, I flew in on a whim. I checked Travelocity just for the heck of it for the cost of a plane ticket Friday night to see what it'd cost to get there Sunday morning and fly home Monday. $168, I bought it! Then I searched for a good room rate, found it at the Hilton, $65 for the night. That Sunday night at the Hilton, I turned a $100 buy-in at a black jack table into more than $4000. I was playing for about 10 hours, and in the course of that ten hours, I also managed to lose back almost all of the four grand. I didn't care because I had a blast getting that far ahead, it was pretty cool having enough chips in front of me to bet $500 a hand, and I did.

2000, I booked a room at the Paris LV. When I went to check in, I asked for a room similar to the room that they had comp'd me during the 2000 CCGTCC convention. It was on the 28th floor overlooking the Bellagio fountains, very cool view! The girl at the counter said "I think you'll like this one even better." She was right! It was a 28th floor corner suite. I had the same view of the Bellagio fountains out of one window, and the south end of the Las Vegas strip out of the other window.....way cool room! grin

I'll be in Indianapolis this Labor Day weekend. I'd like to be in Las Vegas, but the Indy thing is a sure bet. The plane ticket, hotel room and rental car are all paid for, and I will take a paycheck home with me for doing what I love doing. The perfect job, get paid for having fun!
