Bill..You don't understand my point. I think Nate is an honest, decent and competent person and I have always known him to be that, and supported him based on those credentials. His judment and timing were inexplicably bad. As President, he sets the tone for the Board. He knows what the Club sentiment is and he Knows (or should have known) what to expect from such a vote. The fallout and discord cannot be a surprise to him. We didn't need that vote now and we didn't need that vote at all. The solidarity of the club comes first and Nate's (or any other Board member's) opinion comes last. Why fracture this club to make a point?? We don't elect officers to do what they want to do, we elect them to act in accordance with the will of the members. That is what Nate promised when he was running.He agreed to hear and heed what we have to say. Is anyone on the Board listening?? Whether this vote is right or wrong in a vacuum, it can never be said to be the will of the membership. We are not children, and we don't need to be administered medicine because of our feelings on this issue. I personally think the Slabbing companies are cancer like preditors..but I won't bother them if they don't bother me and inviting them out is not illegal, immoral, or even impolite. I believe the majority of the active members do not want to invite them in and the Board should pay attention to that. It is not an adequate answer to argue that the Board had the power to do this. The king of England had the power to tax the Colonies, and that caused a revolution. This Board had better begin listening. This is just one old dog's opinion.
