Although I have contacted both Bruce and Howard Privately I feel I owe them both a public apology. I failed to contact the two people I have worked with for the past 9 years and inform them of my decision and that was unexcusable, I am very sorry. I hope we can still be friends. I had an early meeting today and I am still working on trying to answer the 57 email I now have sitting in my box. Thanks to my friends who almost to a person said they were disappointed but respected my position. A couple of friends were upset with me and I don't have enough friends that I feel I can afford to loose any. One acused me of "taking my ball and going home" That was not the case, resigning the auctioneers job was in no way a protest, it was simply a matter of consience. I feel very deeply that slabbing is nothing but profiteering and will do serious harm to our hobby. That being said, how could I stand up there and sell something I feel is that detrimental. It has been suggested by well meaning members that I use the podium to put down any slabbed chips that are consigned, but is that professional, I don't think so and the club deserves better. That pretty much left me with no other choices. I still love the club and the hobby, anyone can be replaced and maybe some changes will be postive and make the auction better than ever, I sincerely hope. I apologize to anyone I've disappointed, but there have been times in my life when I did not act with the integrety I should have, but not this time. Jim
