... I was already disheartened by the vote a few days ago by our board to embrace slabbing at our convention, in our magazine and in our auction.

Then, yesterday, my good friend Gene Trimble, as a matter of principle, resigned his positions as Poker Tournament Coordinator and Elections Committee Chairman. I understand fully why he chose to do so and sympathize with the personal torment this decision caused him.

If that wasn't enough, practically the first thing I saw this morning was that Jim Kruse, another good friend and as much a gentleman as anyone you will ever meet in this world, had also placed personal integrity and principle above all else and resigned as our convention auctioneer.
