Here is just a little bit of a thought. In this instance Davis Dam is used as a marker. Nevada is used as a location. We know Gambling has been legal since 1933 in Nevada. As I reecall I read a pamphlet by Riverside Casino that mentions that Laughlin wasn't much more than Don Laughlin's ranch at one time. The pamphlet went on to say that Don Laughlin went on to Pioneer What is now Called Laughlin Nevada. It can also be read that The casino is in Nevada close to Davis Dam. The only other thing that seems to be similar is Whisky Petes Clark County Nevada. Clark County is rather Large so where is Whisky Petes? Not much around there at the time. 10 miles west of Blue Diamond? I hope that makes sense.
I believe the area was also called Southpoint at one time.
