I'm also a new matchbook collector. After joining several of the matchbook clubs and conversing with several of the "old pros", I'm of the opinion that it's about 50-50 on removing the matches. The collectors of older matches keep them in, the collectors of newer matches take them out. How's that for a definitive answer.
