I believe the silver one to have been gold at one time. That is almost ALWAYS the case with these. It takes very little to remove the gold from these and just leave the silver underneath. I can verify that with a good magnifying glass. I believe if you look in the corners of the letters very carefully you will probably still find patches of gold.
