I use Microsoft Picture-It or Adobe PhotoDeluxe Business edition and never have a problem accessing the smartmedia card in the A-drive. Did you try to un-install the FlashPath software and re-install it?? That might help. Also, the battery in the adapter goes dead rather quickly with alot of use. Are you sure the battery in the adapter is good?? Not sure if any of these ideas will work, just trying to think of reasons it MAY not work.
