Virus update

Norton has come up with a downloadable tool to fix the damage done by the email virus that has hit myself and Rick Schwarz in the last week. It appears to have done the job on my machine I hope. If anyone else has been hit with this virus, here's a link to the tool, but I believe you have to have bought, installed and registered NAV software to actually download and run the program.

A note to Rick and everyone, I've had 7 copies of this virus sent to my emailbox so far. Only one (the original sender) was a familiar name. Given the ongoing reception of these emails by people I've never heard of, it appears that the virus not only sends itself to everyone in you address book, it remembers the addresses that it has already set itself to and resends it each time a new person is infected with it. Rick, removing your email address from BB postings won't keep you fom getting more hits from this bug, but it might prevent contact from someone that you do want to "talk" to.

Every copy had a different subject line (the virus picks a file at random to attach itself to) which also means the infected attachment will look different everytime, as will the file extensions.

...I sent and received several hundred emails over the last weekend in the pursuit of earning a living. I send emails to the autoposting sections of several websites. I receive confirmation notes from those sites indicating that the data transfer was successful. Why anyone would want to disrupt the free flow of information by writing and sending these viruses is something that I'll NEVER understand!
