Regarding spams

I just heard a report regarding scam messages.

The jist of the subject matter is that in many of the unsolicited messages it gives the receiver the opportunity to have all future messages deleted by just requesting it.

DON'T DO IT.

Once you request to be removed from the mailing list, you are acknowleging the fact that you have received it and that your e-mail address is valid.

You see, many of these mailing list that the solicitors buy are outdated, terminated, changed or whatever. The only way they really know if you are receiving the message is for you to acknowledge it. Their thinking is that as long as you are getting the message, maybe at some time in the future you might just buy something. The messages will continue and be sold to others.
