You don't have to open the attachment for the virus to infect your computer! Clicking on an email from a familiar name sets the damn thing off! I'm trying to get rid of it right now. Norton DIDN'T detect it when I got the email Thursday. Neither did it detect it tonight, even after doing a live update! It does have an attachment, but I would only think that openng it is worse than just clicking on an email messege.

I quit maintaining an address book on Outlook Express almost two years ago, because the way these virues spread is by sending themselves to everyone in your address book, and you don't even know that it happened until you have a bunch of PO'd friends with new computer problems! Keep your mailing lists somewhere seperate on your computer, somewhere that these virues couldn't find them without knowing exactly what file you have them in. Copy them onto a text file page and save that page in your documents or whatever. When you need to email anyone or everyone on the list, cut and paste those addresses into the "to" part of your email.

....I'm not sure, but this virus appears to have Norton's number. Norton knows about it and has removal instructions on their website, but for some reason, my computer has been trying to use Norton AntiVirus in an OUTBOUND mode according to my firewall protection!
