It is good enough for auction pictures. Be sure it will focus close enough so you can fill the frame with a chip. I am always discgusted with auction photos that show a tiny chip in the middle of a dining table [g].

The Intel Pocket PC camera is about the same price and will do the job as well. It needs no memory card or disk and can take about 125 hi-res pictures. If you connect it to your PC for taking auction pictures, you can use your monitor as an active viewfinder and see what the image will look like before you snap the shutter.
