Re: Anyone see a problem with this auction?

It is strange. Looking at the bid history on the auction there are 6 bidders. One is bidding incrementally and appears to really want it. Two bidders are newbies and only have 0 and 1 feedbacks. I know the chips were very hot when they first came out but as I recall, they weren't that small a run were they? More than 1000, maybe 5000? I see them come out one or two at a time quite frequently on eBay. Also, Is this guy selling two in this auction or is he selling to the two highest bidders. He does not have it set as a dutch but he mentions two chips. Might be a flawed auction. Also odd that it is a reserve. Maybe this is someone who got burned on buying them and is trying to get some of his money back. Or maybe he is just a GOOD salesman with a fast tongue.

I have noticed though from bidding on Playboy AC $1 chips that the price will rapidly go through the roof. I think they are attractive and like the metal center. I have never been able to get one though. I have seen them go for 30 bucks. I would chalk this up to sexual hysteria. I have noticed that frequently with chips of a sexy nature they will get alot of bidding. I have noticed this with, Brothel chips, Hawaiian Tropic chips, Anything Playboy, Crazy Girls and Splash, the topless Paulson's and The Ore House in Reno. I have all but one of those, the $10. I probably had to pay too much for them but the art is great and the fact that when you stack them there is another picture on the edge make it difficult to not want the whole set. I seem to also recall the 4Q Halloween chip with the Elvira like figure being really hot.

I guess it just proves that in the 21st Century, Sex still does sell.
