... I do have an interesting story about a $500 Club Royale chip.

A few years back I received a call from Gene Grossblatt (may he rest in peace), who had at that time just returned home from the hospital.

In our conversation, Gene was telling me that he was going crazy in bed a needed some action; something challenging to do to keep his mind going for the next week before returning to work.
"No problem, Gene (I replied), I've got just the 'job' for you. I'm going to send you to pick up what I think (and what Ive been told) is the only $500 Club Royale Chip around."

At this point Gene thought I was out of my tree, because he knew the story about the whole inventory going down with the ship. BUT... Gene did not know where one was sitting and waiting to be plucked. Yep, right with the president of Summit Casino Products, who told me in August of 1995 that the company kept one of every chip on file.

Gene did the deal; I had a buyer.... and moved the chip for Gene within a matter of hours.... and Gene was back to work the following week.
