Modern day illegal clubs?

I'm not an "illegals" collector, though enjoy reading about their history & chips.

Was wondering if there's any such clubs open today.
In general, it would seem that illegal clubs began their march to obscurity after the Kefauver hearings, though it took till the early 70's (just guessing on a time frame) for illegals in some parts of the country to close. Were there any illegals still operating by the 1980's? 1990's? Today?

For example: Would the Diamond Club in NYC be classified as an illegal club? As I understand it, it operated in a "gray" area with poker games, but no other type games. Unlicensed, but was it considered a private membership club instead of a traditional "illegal" club with other casino games too? (Has it reopened, or still closed?)

It would seem that the proliferation of riverboat & Indian casinos would make illegal back-room casinos unnecessary these days, though if you're in a non-casino state with miles to fly/drive to the nearest casino, and a tolerant sheriff, then perhaps some illegals still exist in places like Midland TX or Hot Springs AR or perhaps Idaho/Montana.

How 'bout it: Are Illegals extinct in all 50 states today, or do you know about some? If extinct, what was the last one to close & when? (If you need to be vague about particular details, for obvious reasons, would still like to hear what you can divulge.)
