The sports card album you described is what I use for certain topical cards. As Pat says, they are a "little loose" and cards do tend to fall out at times. I like the card file book that Staples has in stock. At around $25, it is a bit pricey, but the cards fit nice and snug and is very spacious. I have my Atlantic City collection stored in one of these card binders with lots of room to spare and I'm very happy with it.
