what I do

As I said above, I have been happy with using the stiff plastic 2" x 2" "safety flips" and a 2" x 7/16" "permanent" Avery stock #7087 gummed label, as shown in the picture below. With a fine point ball point pen I can write a lot of info about the chip (I could also write more with another label on the reverse side). I like this set-up over the cardboard flips for a number of reasons -- one being that you can see the entire chip including the sides/edges. Important: don't use the ordinary gummed labels; the gum dries out (or whatever) over time, and in two or so years will fall off the flip. (You can buy the Avery permanent labels by phone order from Multi-Graphic Business Systems at 717-564-8843)
