Work took me to east San Diego county today
and I made a quick stop at Golden Acorn Casino
under construction 60 miles east of San Diego, CA.
The casino is on the Campo Reservation at I8
and Crestwood. This exit is at 41XX feet and
does get snow and ice in the winter. The 60,000
sq ft casino building is just about finished
with parking lots and roads to be built. The main
electrical feed was being installed today. Opening
is planned for Aug. 2001. Hiring is underway.
Slots and table games planned. It will be interesting
to see if they draw enough business
off of I8 especially in the cold months.
