Having just purchased a digital camera, may I offer a couple suggestions? (Of course, you know I'm going to. ).

If you don't have one, get an AC adaptor.
Maintain two sets of rechargable batteries.
Since the digital cameras have so many features, sit down with the camera and instruction manual in hand, turn on a good movie on TV, and start taking pictures & using features a couple at a time. You're not using up film, you can just delete the pictures.

Your most complicated part will be getting started with the computer. If you already have a USB serial port, you're ahead of the game. You also need a TWAIN-compliant application such as Adobe Photoshop or Adobe PhotoDeluxe.

The main point is to take your time with it, since there are so many features to learn. And we will wait impatiently for you to post a picture of this new acquisition of yours.
