The Chip Board Archive 05

A Confession

My name is Kent (group: "Hello Kent"), and I bought a chip from Dean Clark. Prior to my purchase, I was warned by several people. Some told me that they would never buy from this man. Others told me to be very careful. I read some posts on the Chipboard, but in my defense, didn't perform a search of the archives. (Although I admit that it would be unwise to believe EVERYTHING, word for word, that is posted on the board, it is surely important to listen to what EVERYONE has to say before formulating an opinion.) The chip I wanted was a tough one to find. I emailed Dean with very specific questions about the chip and the quantity in his possession. He answered those questions. This all took place in early April. Recent events and some investigation led me to believe that Dean's answers to my questions might have been less than truthful. He has since admitted that he originally "...might have misled.." me. It is now my belief that Dean sensed he was being followed and he covered his tracks. Again, this is MY opinion based on all my communications with Dean. At this point, all I can do is accept what Dean has told me about the quantity of this particular chip, even though his explanation seems extremely questionable. The "Do not buy from Dean Clark" list now has my name included. I have come in contact with many reputable dealers in my short history of chip collecting. I have found that all of them have one thing in common. It is an "R" number after their name. This is one thing that Dean does NOT have. Hmmmmm, interesting. Thanks for listening.
