Jim; I have a black card for the $2000 package I purchased from the former Vegas World which allowed me six visits that had to be separated by at least six months between visits. These "Vacation Packages" were sold to finance the building of the Tower.

Upon each visit I was given $1000 in "good for one bet" chips and I always took the $25 denominations and played one spin at the roulette table. We also received a couple hundred dollars in those funny slot tokens with the keyway on the blank reverse. Never won more than $15 or $20 with those tokens. However, I would place $500 of their "good for one bet" chips on red, $500 on black and put $25 of my own money on 0/00. The house would take their "good for one bet" chips whether the bet won or lost, but would pay out on any winning bets with regular table chips. We always got back $500 on each of our four visits, plus the free mini-suite room and complimentary drinks at any lounge bar on the casino floor, plus admission to the private member club and free show tickets. Martin and Rossi were the headliners in the showroom at that time.

It was a nice deal while it lasted. Stupack got most of his money for financing his project. We got all of our money back from the $2000 package... plus the free perks. We had two trips left out of the six trip package when Stratosphere took over and would not honor the remainder of the packages. A mass law suit was filed and Stratosphere was ordered to honor the free rooms left on the packages but would not honor the chips package. In 1999, Brenda and I used our last free room deal at Stratosphere.
