Counterfeiting chips is not new
In Response To: Counterfeiting is here! ()

In fact ... in the old west, it was not uncommon for a card player in a saloon to put his own chips into the game, thus converting clay to dollars. The term used to describe this activity is to "ring" the chips into the game and the person doing this is called the "ringer". The term "ringer" to denote a deceptive player is still used today.
