Monday's Trader of the Day - Tribal Error Chip

This is an obsolete $1 chip from the Ho Chunk Golden Nickel casino in Baraboo, Wisconsin. The casino is still there, but the name has been changed to simply Ho Chunk and they are using new chips. This is a very interesting chip. The picture of a gold colored 1934 Buffalo nickel is unique. When making this chip, too much material was put in the slug, the slug is the blank piece of clay that is used to make a chip. When the chip was stamped, the excess material along with the edge of the inlay were forced out. So you will notice a ragged white border around the inlay that extends into the H&C mold. This is not what the chip maker intended and is considered an error. That makes this a very interesting looking chip. This chip is in new condition.

I am looking to trade for another $1 chip that I do not have from just about any where. If you would like this chip, I am sure we can work something out. Check out my web site for 100's of other traders.
