I had some Sahara LV BudJones chips that I swore for a time were a different color red. Then I put some oil on the duller one and it became the same color red as the others. I believe it's the plasticizer coming out of the plastic in the coin-inlay chips. Same is true of the Four Queens pink dollar chip.
