Interesting stuff about Palace Station.

Several months ago, Palace Station got in an all new rack and announced a redemption. Basically, the new rack was in and the old rack was out. People had a certain amount of time to turn in the old stuff before it no longer valid. (I think the redption notice was good for 120 days, but I could be wrong.)

This is not unusual, however, I found out yesterday that the redeption did not apply to the old $1 Bud Jones, CIC chips (of which there are three varities). Those older BJ CIC $1 chips are still current and in-use in the poker room. They can be carried out of the poker room and used on the tables, but they get separated out and put back with the poker room.

Another items of interest is the new rack's $8 chip. It is on the Pai Gow Poker tables, however, if you buy or use them, the dealer will verbally inform you that commisions are rounded up to the next five dollar increament. A single $8 bet is calculated as a ten dollar bet if you win. Bet three of them, it is computede as a $25 bet. Two of them is a $20 bet. This is inspite of the sign at the table that says "5% commission on all winning bets".

For those that may not remember, the Palace Station new rack includes 1's, 3's, 5's, 20's, 25's, 100's, etc. The three's are used in $3 minimum blackjack and I think the 20's are used at the baccarat tables.

(Gene, I guess this answers my question.)
