Slab Seminar

Thanks to Andy's nagging, I relented and attended the Slab seminar.

Our outgoing VP Ken Hollenbeck (Coin Dealer) was allowed to speak 1st. He took up 1/3 of the alloted time rambling on and on and on. In my opinion he gave all the arguements against slabbing without meaning to. BTW Ken forgot to attend the meeting that turned the club over to the new board.

The Slabber, (I can never remember their initals as they go by 3 different names) admitted their slabs had been counterfitted.

Not one positive comment besides Ken and the slabber was made about slabbing. CT Rogers made a case for freedom of choice. I respect his opinions but still believe the Slabbing companies do not belong in our convention or in our magazine.

Jim Reilley did a great job as our only rep on the panel. Peter Sanders and others asked the hard questions (what little time was left for questions) but I don't believe they ever got answers. I am sure Peter will post his opinions.
