Just got back a short time ago from the VIP preview night at the new Sandia Casino in Albuquerque, New Mexico. It opens to the public at 6pm tomorrow evening (5-25-01).

This place was a knock-out!!! A class act all the way. It has lots of beautiful skylights, an overhead atrium-like glass dome in the ceiling and a 40 foot tall picture window with a majestic view of our Sandia Mountains. I believe it must have the most glass / windows of any casino I have ever seen or read about. You can sit at a Blackjack table and look out this gigantic floor to ceiling window. It probably measures 40' by 80'.

I'll be going back tomorrow night to pick up their $25 slot token and $100 chip for scanning and posting. These are the largest denominations they have available at this time.

The ONLY denomination slot tokens are $1, $5, and $25. The ONLY chip denominations are $1, $2.50, $5, $25, and $100. Their slot card design did not change. The only chips they carried over from the old casino are their roulettes.

NO Silver Strike machines...

They said that they will be giving a 'gift' to the folks arriving tomorrow night at 6pm... but wouldn't say if it was different from the mouse pads they were handing out tonight. I'll be there to find out.
