Bingo! Sounds like at least 3 or 4 chips' worth to me, Jim, but I agree with your points.
You could also add that each printer will print colors slightly differently, depending on calibration and accuracy, and the paper itself will make a difference.
Pantone is the printers' color chart, but as I recall it costs a couple hundred dollars, doesn't it?
StanGib (Stanley Gibbons) makes the philatelic color chart, and it's quite a bit more affordable.
We gotta get this standards committee to work!
