This is used at the Orleans.

They use that marker at the Orleans for the Dragon hand.

For those not familiar with the Dragon hand, I will explain briefly. Pai-Gow Poker has a maximum number of hands that can be played each deal. (I think it is seven.) It is one of those games that regardless of the number of players, all hands are still dealt. If and when there are more hands available than there are players, then one hand is tagged as the Dragon hand (the marker is placed on top of the dealt hand). All players then set their hands, after which the Dragon hand is offered to the first player (counter-clockwise) from the Dragon hand. If that player declines to play the Dragon hand, it pass to the next player in line, until one plays the hand or all reject it. If a player opts to play the hand, then they must put up a bet equal to or greater than their regular hand bet.

Not all houses do the Dragon hand, and when the table is full, there is no Dragon hand. It may not be logical, but I will play the Dragon when my regular hand is really good.

One last interesting thing about Pai-Gow Poker. As a player, or as a spectator, you are allowed to place money on another player's hand. If someone is on a "rush" (to borrow a poker term), everyone can join in, but you do need the players permission.

Gene, I've wanted one of these, now I know where to go. Thanks, Jim
