I agree with you Bob. Most of the time I use Travelocity to check rates and then call the airline to see if they can do better. If you don't mind the red eyes then one of the discounters might be good. If you want to go to Europe I suggest you check out www.thedailyauction.com for last minute tickets. The auctions seem to go for around $175 per round trip ticket and are on Luftansa. They go to all of the major cities and return is normally one week. I have never used the service but the price sure seems right.
