The Chip Board Archive 05

A happy ending (quite late)

Back in January I bid an won an auction for a few poker chips. The Seller was not a chip collector, just a a general sort of junk dealer who had probably picked these up at a garage or estate sale. I paid by check the total was under $7.

A month after my check had cleared i hadnot received the chips, so I emailed the seller. He responded that his wife had been in the hospital and that he would send the chips out on Monday. I was suspicious because he had been listing more items on Ebay. A week later a get an email from him saying he needs my address again. I send him my address and wait. He is still listing stuff on Ebay. A couple weeks later I decide it is now time to leave Negative feedback, only when I get there I discover he is NARU.

So I file a complaint at the Internet Fraud Complaint Center and with Ebay (its below the deductible for insurance) and I write this off.

Yesterday I return home and there is a box (sent UPS) sitting at my door. I open it up and there are my chips, no letter not note, it took me a while to figure out that these were those chips.
