Re: You're welcome Jill......

Jill; Yes, there have been a few new Harrah's variations that have come to light since the last issue of my A.C. Catalog. Bernie Sloan reported a couple of them to me. Sometimes I don't illustrate them as the significance is not that great in which a reduced photocopy will show the difference... however, I do verbally describe the differences in the catalog text. Sometimes it's just a shade color difference like on the HTP chips.

As for the Harrah's Marina's.... there are two variations on the $1 and $5 chips where the size of the letter "i" in "Marina" and "Casino" are very markedly different. I call the smaller variety a "mini-i" as it is about half as tall as the normal size "i". Also, Bernie discovered two different size numeral "5" on several Harrah's nickel chips. The nice thing about these "5" variations is that they can still be found on the tables. Simple purchase a stack of nickel for $100 at the craps table and sort through them. They are there. Small "5"; Large "5".

As for the catalog itself. In case you are not aware..... most chip and token authors have donated copies of their works to the club library over the past couple of years and they are available on loan to club members who want to research things such as you are asking about. Also, this is a great way to preview a particular book or catalog to decide in advance if it is worth purchasing a copy for your own personal library. The only cost is the RETURN postage. The club absorbs the cost of mailing library items out to club members.

Will be sending a copy of my 2001 Atlantic City Catalog to Club Librarian Robert Pardue, today.
