...long time ESPN motorsports reporter Steve Evans was found dead in his hotel room in Las Vegas last night. Steve was a veteran of motorsports journalism for 40 years, covering a wide range of racing, working in recent years for ESPN, TNN and Speed Vision. He was in Las Vegas to cover the World of Outlaws at the Las Vegas Speedway, and check out the SEMA show.

He was a true professional in his field. I'm proud to say that I knew him, and I'm very sad to know that he is no longer with us.
