...that I've illustrated both sides.

I bought three 5¢ PAL'S CLUB chips (all there was)
out of the "Newhouse '95 Find" in 1995. I (and the
hobby) had no reference as to attribution.

The following year I listed one example in our
club auction as location unknown. Prior to the
auction a bidder approached me asking if I would
consider removing the chip from the display and sell
it for X amount of dollars. In so many words I
said thanks, but I'd rather be part of the action.

When the lot was called, the bidding had reached
$400 in a few minutes, and a person in the room called out "$400 for
an unknown chip" which was a good move...because I
thought the location was indeed unknown. Needless
to say, the bidding ended at $400. I and the buyer
were very happy.

A few months later I placed example #2 in our club
magazine for $800 (testing the waters). No bites.
I then advertised exampe #2 for $1000 (further
testing of the waters). Sold it instantly to a person who
subscribed to his magazine First Class.

Later, while visited by a highly-respected
collector/dealer, he examined and purchased example
#3 while we were having breakfast at the West Palm Beach Denny's. The chip was in excellent "unused" condition. Sold for
$1,600.00. The chip is worth every penny and more.
It's a gem!

Though the chip seen below has a fully,
well-embedded (scratchless) inlay on both sides,
there are some shallow rim chips on its edge. There
is also a beautiful rack mark on its edge which the
other three examples lacked.

This example (one of 2-pieces) was acquired from
an Iowa find last year by one other
collector and mysef. To compare it with the other three
chips, of which one had a partially lifting inlay, I
would call it a "4" on a scale of 1 to 5.

I'm foolish enough to spend the 2-bucks by listing
the chip on eBay for further exposure...and will be
more than happy to get $1000 for it....considering
the used condition.

BTW, the person we bought these two examples from
had six (6) of the more common 25¢ chips.
