Big Difference between Price Guides..............

.... on this particular chip. Unless I'm reading the guides incorrectly (which is not out of the question considering the time of day that I'm writing this), the $100 Bingo Palace Die4Suit issue is listed in TCR7 as U+ ($400 - $449) and James and Steve's book lists it as an R-3 ($10 - $20 - $30). It appears that the value code in TCR7 is a typo. The value in TCR6 was F. My guess is that the value in TCR7 was meant to be G+. Do the TCR authors agree?

I was prompted by the following eBay auction to look this chip up. It's heading states:

< $100 BINGO PALACE LAS VEGAS CASINO CHIP R-10 >

The description of the auction states:

< THIS IS ONE OF THE MOST SOUGHT AFTER CHIPS IN THE HOBBY. THIS ONE IS ABSOLUTELY PERFECT--LOOKS LIKE IT WAS NEVER TOUCHED BY HUMAN HANDS, SHARP EDGES WITH NO VISIBLE WEAR WHAT-SO-EVER. "THE OFFICIAL US CASINO CHIP PRICE GUIDE" RATES THIS CHIP AN R-10, WHICH MEANS THAT THERE ARE 2-3 IN EXISTENCE, AND I GUARANTEE THIS IS THE NICEST OF THEM. IT IS A THIRD ISSUES CHIP, AND LOOKS BETTER THAN THE PICTURE. I PAID OVER $450 FOR THIS CHIP, AND MY 2 YEAR OLD BOOK LISTS IT AT $600 IN IT'S CURRENT CONDITION, WHICH MEANS IT MUST BE WORTH MUCH MORE NOW. FOR ANY OF US THAT HAVE CHASED A TOUGH CHIP, WE KNOW THAT WE WIND UP PAYING ALMOST DOUBLE THE HIGH PRICE. THIS ONE I WILL START AT MY PURCHASE PRICE. GOOD LUCK!! >

Who would like to be first to make comments on THIS auction? <g>
