My favorite jeton.

Though this piece isn't high-end material, it's
still one of my all-time favorites.

Prior to my find in the south of France, some six
years into my collecting, there was only one chip
known and recorded from this 1930s casino.

In Monsieur Victor GADOURY'S 1991 "Special Jetons"
price list, he illustrated that 5f beige jeton as
being 33mm, serial No. 0820; super rare. The chip
wasn't listed very long before purchased by a
well-known European collector. European casino
historians knew the Casino Tabarin existed at 29, rue Pastorelli, in Nice, but the only piece ever noted as coming from there was the beige 5f piece.

My find included the 100f jetons seen below, along
with some 500f and 1000f translucent tortoise
shell-type plastic laminate plaques with the same
Art Déco style as the 100f. Needless to say, those
who collected France were very happy of the find.

All but the two plaques in my collection, and one
1000f plaque with a minor cegarette ash imperfection
have been placed.

The remaining eleven 100f jetons (40mm in size) are
available at $42 each.

The last 1000f plaque (65 x 50 mm) is available at
$160.
