Chip Hobby Software
In Response To: Re: CHECK MATE ()

How would users of chip collector software feel about a database containing descriptive information about each Nevada chip and a scan of each chip. Would you use it this way, or would you want the scan to show the particular chip in your collection? Would you want to add your own comments, and your own date acquired and cost?

I was hoping such a chip database would be the result of the chip-numbering committee that was organized a few years ago but which gave up in frustration. For my own uses, I'd like to input a unique chip number (TCR number in case of Nevada chips) and have the software pick up all descriptive info from a single source to display when I inquire of my collection or traders. Others have said they want to see the fingerprints on their own chips [g].

I have to say that even though I'm a heavy computer user that was involved in the computer industry for 30 years, I don't use any inventory system at all. I look at the chips themselves when I have questions. If it were easier to implement, I'd use a database system.

How do board readers feel?

How do TCR authors feel about such a database derived from info in the book?
