Some thoughts about this NB / 1948 chip. #1 Different fonts for the NB and the 1948. #2 Could be a personal monogram & the 1948 could be a date commemorating an important event, like a college graduation or something. (I wanted to have chips made for my wedding reception. Dave & Jenny 1989. You wouldn't believe the flack I got from Jen & her Mom. Her Dad thought it was a swell idea though.) #3 An almanac usually has noted events listed by year. I couldn't find anything related to NB for the year 1948. #4 NB is the abbreviation for the Latin "nota bene" which means, literally, "note well", or as my high school Latin teacher said it means, "Pay attention, stupid."
