sad Censureship is a dangerous thing
In Response To: WE'RE A HOUSE DIVIDED AGAIN ()

It seems to me that, as long as the ads meet our current requirements, those who don't like them have no one but themselves with which to be angry. The rules are available for all. If they neglected to work toward plugging a loophole they don't like, why blame those who follow the rules?

One reason Andy is a pretty good poker player must be that he can read people's minds. grin At least he purports to, in an earlier post, regarding the intentions of the fellows who placed the ICG ad. He may be right, but it is still just a guess.

Finally, to impose censureship based on what we want people to see or not see relative to chipping is kind of like the grading issue. If we don't like an unknown grader arbitrarily making judgements without real guidelines, how can we accept an unknown censor doing the same?

For example: There are a lot of members who don't like C & W using "Official" in the title of their book. Should we therefore deny them membership, advertising rights or use of the club logo?

C'mon folks -- let's think things through before firing off a lot of vitriol on the BBS.
