Dave, I had the same sort of question some time back when I posted about the origin of $2.50 snappers. Figuring that BJ became more popular when basic strategy was computer plotted in @1959, what would a $5 bet (necessatating a $2.50 + $5 payoff)be equivalent to today? Thanks to the calculator Greg supplied, these $5 bet values become known. 1962--$27.80, '72--$20.54, '82--$9.13, '92--$6.10. Kind of gives you an idea of the affordability of a $5 bet and when it may have become common enough to issue snappers. $5 was significant in 1962 near todays $25 bet but we're not going to see a $12.50 chip soon... I'd bet on that! BTW Susong, this chip is available at today's price, even though the 1935 adjustment is tempting. grin
