I don't want to bring up old news but set the facts straight. An innocent dealer took a lot of heat for a 30 chip purchase. Some person or persons purchased two racks and this caused the shortage. 1000 chip run was light but that wasn't the problem. History keeps repeating itself and will continue if we collectively do not get involved. Unless someone actually sees the purchase & comes forward we'll never know the truth. My suggestion is take it to the casino either by boycott or letter campaign.
It is still my opinion that the shortage at that time was not entirely negative. Dealers & collectors tried to accommodate the collectors who didn't have the chip. The hobby itself came together & many new friends were made because of the situation. The chip really has not increased in value over time in fact earlier issues sell at a much higher price. There have been a few times this has happened in the past considering the amount of LE's issued it's very infrequent. My letter to Harrah's is going out today & I hope that this encourages others to send them a note to inform them if they want to sell this product they have to consider distributing it fairly.
