"Do the Ore House chips have to be approved by the Gaming Commission?"

If the Ore House has a gaming license, even restricted to slots, the chips would have to be approved by NV gaming. I can tell you for sure these chips were not submitted to NV gaming. If they were submitted, they would have been turned down.

Do they have slots?

I guess you remember the scam that was imposed on a chip dealer with this set of 4 chips from the Ore House. At the time the scam happened, the Ore House did not have a gaming license as the scamee checked.
