Latest version of Eudora stores attachments in whatever directory you tell it to. If you delete the email, the attachment is still there, waiting for you to wonder what it is someday and double click it. You can set Eudora to delete attachements whenever the email is deleted if you want to. I don't do that though.

Now, some emails, the ones that show up with pictures and graphics right in them, have the items embedded. In that instance, if you delete the email the other items are deleted with it.

One other nice thing about Eudora. Most virus programs look for your Outlook software and use that to email itself to others. If you use Eudora instead of outlook you still might get a virus if you aren't careful, but you probably won't send it to anyone else.
