Re: Palace Station screwed up
In Response To: Palace Station "SUCKS" ()

This is my personal opinion - take shots at it if you'd like.

I believe the casino got "nervous" when shortly after opening sales, there was no massive line and decided it was better to recoup expenses for the chip run by selling off the $5's. I really can't believe that almost 80 people bought the entire set at $130 and turned in $125 worth to just keep the $5's. Think of the bankroll they must have had. If this did happen, and the cage people didn't call upstairs because of the $100 and $25 being turned in, they need retraining. Just look at Main St. Station and other Boyd casino where the limit is two chips per person. Although I disagree with that policy, the fear of God has been put in the cage people and even a large tip would not move them from their "two only" orders from above.

I also feel that it is totally unethical to state that no sets will be broken and then do otherwise.
The casino jumped the gun and did not at all consider that some of us work, had other committments or like to sleep in on Saturday (Andy - you had the right idea). There is a hell of a lot of credabilty lost here. Palace Station should offer an apoligy and admit a mistake has taken place. However, I doubt that would ever happen. The eleventh commandment is that a casino and its employees are always right.

If Palace Station wants to get into the chip issuing fold (and I hope they do), they should talk with the experts such as the local CC>CC, Four Queens, Hard Rock, O'Sheas, Riviera etc. and not listen to one person. Have they been hood-winked?
